In-person Classes

My in-person classes will be back some time next year and I can’t wait to have the chitter chatter of this learning space.

Although the online training is pretty incredible, some of you want to learn in a more personal creative space, which suits you better.

Learning in-person is an unforgettable hands-on experience that will not only teach you this time-honoured craft of kilt making,

but will also allow you to immerse yourself in rich Scottish tradition and culture.

Classes will run weekly or 12 day courses will be available on request, once my new space to teach has been created.

Join the waiting list to note your interest and be the first to book in for your kilt making experience.

Here’s what you can expect from my in-person kilt making classes.
  • Hands-on experience

You don’t have to be a seasoned sewer to learn kilt making, complete beginners can invest in themselves with my classes also, which are tailored to all skill levels.

With over 15 years of experience, I have taught all levels of students to create their exquisite tartan masterpiece.

Being in class with me, means I can physically show you and guide you with every stitch.

  • Kilty community

There’s something really special about learning together in a creative community.

Whether you are on a 12 day course or committed to coming to weekly classes, joining fellow kilt enthusiasts and watching each others progress.

Getting homework to do and holding each other accountable to achieve each stage to the best of your ability.

And of course , getting excited about each others colourful tartan and design choices!

  • Relaxed learning

I strive to make you feel welcome and relaxed through the whole kilt journey.

My work room will be set out so you have your own to table to spread out and be comfortable through the sewing experience.

My classes will run 10-3 with a couple of tea breaks to take a breather and re-set between stages. These of course are optional if you are in the sewing zone, you may not want to stop!

Savour the creative process at your own pace with no pressure.

  • Sharing Stories

Something I love about the in-person classes are the conversations about everything and anything.

I’ve always said “What’s said in kilt class, stays in kilt class”

Every class is different, sometimes its full of laughter, sometimes it’s still and studious and sometimes it’s a therapy session.

Whatever the atmosphere is, the creative learning space will connect you with like minded individuals who are invested in learning this heritage craft.
