Learn Heritage Hand Stitched Kilt Making

Are you fascinated with the Traditional Scottish culture and the beauty of a well-crafted hand stitched kilt?

As a fellow kilt maker, I understand how challenging it can be to achieve exceptional results on your own.

That’s why I promise this :

You can master the art of kilt making without the frustration of vague incomplete instructions.

My courses provide the detailed guidance and support you need to craft kilts with confidence and skill.

My next Online Kilt Making course is January 2025

DOORS CLOSE 30th November 2024

  • Stitch the Basics

My “Stitch the Basics” is a MUST to practice and perfect your stitches, which are extremely important to sew an exquisite heritage kilt.

Not only will you practice all the stitches in preparation to starting your very own kilt, you will be practicing your pleating and dimple stitching on your fringe area.

It’s basically a mini kilt sample piece to make and practice on.

Remember, your kilt is an expensive iconic garment, so let’s make the mistakes on your practice piece!

You can purchase the “Stitch the Basics” course below.

    “Practice makes Perfect”

  • Warrior poet tartan in grey and blue background with white and burgandy lines.

    Online Course

You will get personal videos for your chosen tartan, on the pleat sizes and pleating designs on sewing your kilt to stripe or block.

This means each pleat will look the same, for the best training, for you to learn and grow.

You will learn through video training with weekly zooms to discuss each stage for your first kilt.

You will learn where each stitch goes and how to place your canvas, to get the absolute best results for shaping your kilt to perfection.

The video training is an amazing way to make your kilt, with no travel costs and kilting around your own designated time.

This is a 12 week course with me, guiding you through each stage with the added bonus of having 1 years access to the videos.

The cost of the course is £2200 plus material.

Tartan and materials are an added cost and vary depending on what you need and where we purchase the tartan.

I have a supply of canvas, straps, buckles threads etc you can purchase from me.

We discuss all this on your 1-1 with me after purchasing the course.

    In Person Classes

    Coming soon!

Maybe online training isn’t for you, and you would prefer to come to my in-person classes.

These will be up and running again sometime next year. I am in the process of changing my work space to a larger area in my loft. So, once I get my staircase to kilty heaven built, and the room organised, I will be running weekly classes on a Thursday and Friday, with the option of 12 day courses available throughout the year.

Each class will have 3 available places for you to learn, in a designated space with like minded creatives.
